Cardiac Imaging » TEE or TransEsophageal Echo
The transesophageal echocardiogram or TEE is used to diagnose heart disease. Images obtained using TEE are more clear and also allow the cardiologist to view structures that would be difficult using traditional echocardiograms.
TEE is a special type of echocardiogram that is done in the hospital, usually as an outpatient procedure using I.V. sedation.
